What to Provide When You Need a Replacement Part

Application industry

Nameplate, photos, dimensions, wiring and the failure history – what to send so a replacement part can be verified instead of guessed.

Most replacement requests stall because the part cannot be identified. The fastest route to a correct answer is to send enough information that the original item can be matched, or ruled out, before anyone quotes.

Start with the label or nameplate on the part: manufacturer, model or type code, rated capacity or output, and any serial or batch number. A sharp photo of the label, plus the whole item from two angles, usually settles the housing, the mounting and the connector.

Then add the measurements that decide fit: overall length and width, hole spacing or mounting centres, thread or flange size, and the length and type of cable. For load cells, state the rated capacity, the output or sensitivity if it is printed, and the number of cores with their colours. For indicators and displays, state the supply voltage and the interfaces actually in use.

Finally, describe the failure and the surroundings: what the part did or stopped doing, when it started, whether water, impact or overload was involved, and what it is installed in. If the replacement has to work with an existing junction box or controller, say so – compatibility is checked against the whole circuit, not only the part.

Core Question

What details should I send to get the right replacement part?

Applicable Conditions

Known-model spares, discontinued items and old parts that have to be identified from the item itself. Applies to load cells, indicators, junction boxes and remote displays.

Limitations

Similar dimensions or capacities do not by themselves prove compatibility: mounting, thread, connector, signal and cable entry all have to be checked against the original. Demo example; identification and matching are confirmed case by case, and no part is guaranteed interchangeable from a photo alone.

Key Claims & References

The nameplate, clear photos, key dimensions, wiring or connector details and the reason for replacement are the details that decide whether a part can be matched.

Next Action

Send the nameplate photos and dimensions through the inquiry form, or add them to a request for a specific product.
