An outdoor installation is judged by the weather it sees over a full year, not by a single dry day. Direct sun heats the deck and the load cells unevenly, rain and cleaning water sit on the platform, and temperature swings move both steel and cables. Deck finish, drainage and how the frame is anchored decide how steady the readings stay across seasons.

Water is the most common failure route. A platform should shed water rather than pond it, and the ground around a pit or a ramp should not hold standing water against the frame. Cable runs are best taken downhill into a junction box placed where water cannot collect, with gland entries pointing down or sideways so a wet cable does not carry water into the enclosure.

The indicator and any remote display need a position that stays readable without glare and reachable without walking on a wet deck. A post-mounted housing facing away from the afternoon sun, or a display just inside a doorway, is usually easier to keep dry than a screen fixed to the platform. Wind and vibration act on the light steel structures that often surround outdoor platforms, so the foundation and its embedded plates should be checked against the loads actually expected, including side loads.

Choosing this condition tag only means that candidate products exist for outdoor use. Enclosure protection class, deck dimensions, cable entries, indicator interfaces and the foundation detail still have to be confirmed for the configuration you order, together with whatever your local rules require. A tag starts the conversation; it is not evidence that a product suits your site.
