Dry & Clean

In a dry and clean room the scale is not fighting water, dust or sun, so the practical questions shift to readability and data. An operator should be able to place an item, read a stable value quickly and record it without writing it down by hand. Bench scales, checkweighers and indicators for these areas are usually chosen for a fine division and for how easily the reading can be passed to a label printer, a PC or a production record.

Space is the other recurring constraint. A clean bench, a packing line or a laboratory table rarely has room for a large platform, and the cable between load cell and indicator has to run without crossing a walkway or a conveyor. Worth measuring before choosing: the footprint and height available, where an indicator or terminal can stand within arm’s reach, and whether the scale will be moved between stations.

Daily cleaning here is normally light, a wipe with a damp cloth rather than hosing down or aggressive chemicals. That keeps material and sealing requirements modest compared with a washdown line, but a clean room is not by itself a specification: which cleaning agents are used, how often, and whether liquid ever spills near the instrument should be confirmed on site, along with whatever protection class you require.

Choosing this condition only means that candidate products exist for dry, clean interiors. Readability, capacity, platform size, interfaces and the sealing you actually need still have to be confirmed for the configuration you order, and any protection or metrology requirement is checked against your local rules rather than assumed from this tag.
